+351 is the new instrumental LP from Stereossauro, this number is the Portuguese international phone code, It’s the number that we Portuguese use to call home when we are away.
This record revolves around the Portuguese Fado guitar and the experimentation with synthesisers and drum samples, this time the Fado singers remain quiet and the guitars take the main spotlight, the tradition of the instrumental Fado LP is recovered and transposed to contemporary compositions.
With great influences by the guitar masters Carlos Paredes and António Chainho and also by the electronic music masters Amon Tobin and Dj Shadow to name a few, this record sounds futuristic but at the same time there’s a nostalgic feeling that speaks to the heart and soul.
With remarkable contributions of virtuoso guitar players such as Ângelo Freire, Ricardo Gordo, José Manuel Neto, the great Mestre António Chainho, Tó Trips and Pedro Jóia, Celina da Piedade on the accordion , Dj Ride also coproduced two songs and the vocals of Ana Magalhães layering raw emotion to the record.

I had such a great time working on this record with my friends, made some new friends along the way, and it was a really freeing experience, without any pressure of singles or radio hits, only focused on making what made me feel good, and it did made me feel good so I’m very happy to share it with the world.

The cover artwork is by the great Bordalo II, he is my favourite Portuguese visual artist and its an absolute honour to have a a cover done by him, his works can be found all around the world on the streets and museums, his activist and ecological state of mind is also a great influence and his use of recycled materials alongside the messages in his art result in powerful pieces that leave no one indifferent.
